About Me

My name is Nicole, and I am a ballet dancer based in Columbia, South Carolina; I’m currently in my 10th season with South Carolina Ballet and my second as a Principal. My training began at age four at Columbia Conservatory of Dance under William Starrett and Mariclare Miranda. At eight, I performed the role of Clara in The Nutcracker, and later appeared as Victoria in Dracula: Ballet with a Bite. These early performances deepened my love for classical ballet.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of attending summer programs at Boston Ballet, Washington Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet (on a Youth America Grand Prix scholarship), Houston Ballet, and Tulsa Ballet. I continued my pre-professional training at Columbia Classical Ballet before moving to Houston Ballet’s year-round program at the highest level. While there, I performed in works such as Le Conservatoire, Tales of Texas, Serenade, Concerto, and Graduation Ball.
Following my time in Houston, I danced two seasons with Tulsa Ballet II, where I performed in Ben Stevenson’s Dracula, Val Caniparoli’s Lady of the Camellias, Ronald Hynd’s The Merry Widow, and Edward Liang’s Romeo and Juliet.
At South Carolina Ballet, I’ve enjoyed performing a wide range of roles, including Bluebird in The Sleeping Beauty; Snow Queen, Dew Drop Fairy, Clara, and Chinese Tea in The Nutcracker; as well as featured roles in Swan Lake (Dance of the Cygnets), Dracula: Ballet with a Bite, Motown, Studio 54 and Beatles The Ballet.
Ballet has always been my passion, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to continue growing, performing, and connecting through this art form.
